Photography Blog
I'm going to journal my adventures in Photography in this blog. I've been fooling around with cameras for years, and digital cams for a couple years. 2005 was the year I got serious about photography and through the purchase of 2 digital cameras and months of experimenting and thousands of photos I've become quite the shutterbug.
I get lots of compliments on my work, and am going to try selling some prints. I'm going to look at doing event photography and other hired photography when I have a bit more equipment to work with.
Right now my arsenal includes :
Nikon D50 dSLR, my new baby :)
Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G DX (D50 kit lens)
Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D standard lens (amazing low cost lens)
Tamron tele-macro 70-210mm f/4-5.6 (second hand starter telephoto zoom)
Panasonic DMC-FZ3 digicam, my big stepping stone that I outgrew
There are a few more things I want before I try hiring myself out:
External Flash (probably the SB-600)
flash bracket
ttl extension cord
Portrait lens (24-85)
colapsable reflector + stand
And for portrait stuff:
backdrops
lighting gear
There'll no doubt be an endless array of new gadgets and gear to invest in, it'll take time to really have a fully equiped camera system.
Another lens I think I'd like to have is the newly announced Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens. it's supposed to be very good, and would be a very excellent all around lens for hikes and the like. be able to carry one lens, and avoid the constant swaps between wide and telephoto lenses.
Well I'm going to clue this up, more info later on. I'll be using this blog to talk about the equipement I use, the techniques I try, the photos I take, my adventures in commercializing my photography, etc.
Take care, and keep your lens at the ready for that amazing photo you don't expect.
